BUELLTON IS OUR TOWN is a group of neighbors who are committed to enhancing Buellton’s distinctive rural small-town character and quality of life. The organization began in 2007 over a major growth proposal that was supported by the City Council, which would have expanded Buellton six-fold.

Buellton Is Our Town (BIOT) studies issues, identifies strategies to effectively address them, and uses grassroots networking and communication tools to educate people and influence policy. We partner with individuals, groups, businesses, and governmental decision makers on issues affecting growth, land use, infrastructure, safety, culture, and the environment.

Presently BIOT is very involved with the Buellton Community Visioning Process.

By working together we strive to:

  1. BulletFoster a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly downtown district;

  2. BulletAvoid urban sprawl;

  3. BulletProtect open spaces and views;

  4. BulletRecruit businesses that allow more people who live here to work here.

BIOT is a nonprofit citizens’ action group under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.
